Sam Lam is a production designer who builds worlds where emotion and story meet. Currently based in Los Angeles and Vancouver, she’s a proud member of IATSE 891’s Art Department who is currently completing her MFA at the American Film Institute (graduating August 2026).

Sam started in theatre design before finding her way into film, and she still carries that sense of stagecraft and intimacy into her work. She’s drawn to stories that live in the emotional worlds of their characters and believes design should create spaces that make those emotions tangible. Her work spans narrative films, commercials, and music videos, with a focus on immersive, story-driven design.
