Austin Kwok

Austin Kwok is a Cinematographer based in Los Angeles and Vancouver. With an approach to portraiture that is deeply human and empathetic, he’s in his final year of the MFA Cinematography program at the American Film Institute. His undergraduate thesis film ANOTHER was nominated for the 2023 Canadian Society of Cinematographers Student Award, and his short ROOTS was featured on Directors Notes and showcased in ARRI’s annual lens exhibition.

 

Austin is deeply passionate about stories that pursue unseen perspectives that seek to challenge social norms. He is a proud Affiliate Member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, and his most recent film My Dad, the Rockstar premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
